Extending Learning Beyond the Classroom and Across Our Community

Some educational moments stay with students long after graduation: performing on the Roy Thomson Hall stage alongside hundreds of peers from CIS Ontario school music programs after months of rehearsal; presenting an app concept to industry professionals; or celebrating a championship win with teammates after a hard-fought final.

CIS Ontario designs and delivers distinctive inter-school experiences that bring together students from across our member schools through athletics, music, technology, drama, dance, leadership, and more. These high-quality programs are led by exceptional facilitators, educators, artists, coaches, and industry professionals who challenge students to develop their skills, broaden their perspectives, and pursue their interests at a deeper level.

Hosted in outstanding venues — from professional performance spaces and premier athletic facilities to theatres, university campuses, and innovation hubs — these experiences extend learning beyond the classroom and create meaningful opportunities for students to collaborate, compete, create, and connect with peers from across the CIS Ontario community.

I marvel at how our enthusiastically our students engage with learning, each other and the world around them while participating in our inter-school student programs. There’s nothing else like it in Canada.
