Curriculum Leaders’ Meeting
The CIS Ontario Curriculum Leaders' Network connects academic leaders responsible for overseeing curriculum and staying abreast of Ministry of Education requirements. This Network gathers in-person, both in fall and spring, at a host school where curriculum leaders enjoy engaging days of learning, collaboration and collegiality.
On October 28th and 29th CIS Ontario member school curriculum leaders gathered at Lakefield College School in Lakefield, Ontario for their annual Fall Meeting.
Anne-Marie Kee, LCS Head of School, welcomed participants to her home on campus for a reception the evening before the curriculum leaders meeting. On Tuesday morning, optional pre-meeting activities included a sunrise paddle, yoga on the docks, and a polar bear dip for those feeling brave. Following breakfast, sessions focused on academic skills and featured a keynote presentation by J. Paul Grayson, professor of Sociology at York University studying the experiences and outcomes of university students for over 25 years. After Paul's keynote, Lakefield teachers shared some of their introductory work on academic skills.
