TechFest is a unique professional development opportunity for CIS Ontario school administrators, information and technology teams, communications and admissions departments and business office staff.  With sessions led by those working in the areas of information and innovation, education management systems, data analytics, privacy and data management, all teams from across your school will benefit from this cross-departmental collaboration and learning experience.

TechFest 2021 - Community Conversations

We are excited to announce a new initiative, TechFest Community Conversations - a series of FREE virtual, facilitated discussions covering topics that are front of mind for I.T. professionals and data leaders. We also recognize the reality of Zoom fatigue, and as such we are crafting these 60-90 minutes sessions as engaged, community driven conversations instead of presentations.

Thanks to all who joined us in May for our inaugural TechFest Community Conversation. It was wonderful to see familiar faces and welcome new colleagues to our community. In the spirit of continued collaboration, let’s keep the conversation going!  Join us on June 29th from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. as we discuss the path and evolution of data as it flows through our systems and why it is so important to create a culture of data stewardship. Watch out for some prompt questions to be shared closer to the date and come prepared to share your strategies for shifting the culture of data in your community.

In order to keep the conversation going, we are looking for community involvement from CIS Ontario member schools in determining the hottest topics in our industry and so, are asking for you to not only register for the first session, but to share your topic ideas. All ideas are welcome, and submitting your idea does not mean you have to facilitate the discussion.

Join us in creating a vibrant, virtual community with hopes that we can meet again soon in person.
