TechFest 2024

Calling all passionate Information Technology professionals who thrive on learning about emerging technologies, are dedicated to improving systems and processes, and who are accountable for the management of both software and hardware systems.

Join us at Upper Canada College on February 15th for TechFest 2024!

TechFest is a professional learning and networking unconference that gathers innovation, information, and technology staff professionals from CIS Ontario member schools to collaborate, share, and learn.

This exciting event addresses the unique needs of technology & data teams, including I.T. leaders, data managers, infrastructure experts and classroom integrators.

The day is structured around 12 unconference style sessions, of which roughly 4 will be selected. The sessions are organized by role-based strands and are designed to facilitate conversations on a topic.

The role-based strands are:

  • The Tech Tango: Dancing Through Integration Challenges
  • Data Dialects: Conversations That Matter in the World of Data
  • Building Robust IT Infrastructure for the Future of Learning
  • Technology & Innovation Leadership

TechFest costs $100 per person, includes lunch and will be billed directly to your school.

TechFest 2021 - Community Conversations

TechFest 2021 featured a new initiative, TechFest Community Conversations - a series of free, virtual, facilitated discussions covering front of mind topics for I.T. professionals and data leaders. These 60-90 minutes sessions were crafted as engaged, community driven conversations instead of presentations. We discussed the path and evolution of data as it flows through our systems and why it is so important to create a culture of data stewardship.
