TechFest is a unique professional development opportunity for CIS Ontario school administrators, information and technology teams, communications and admissions departments and business office staff. With sessions led by those working in the areas of information and innovation, education management systems, data analytics, privacy and data management, all teams from across your school will benefit from this cross-departmental collaboration and learning experience.
Spend 2 days connecting with your peers in a personal and meaningful way with sessions created based on community feedback. Previous conferences included discussions around creating a data culture in your school, meaningful communication with your whole community, deep dive technical sessions in Blackbaud Education Management Software, and a fireside chat with knowledge leaders in data, systems and technology.
This year's TechFest conference theme is: Data, Systems & Technology. The Planning Committee is looking for the following community support:
- Ideas for topics to be covered
- Presenters to lead sessions
- Facilitators for open ended discussions
Please consider submitting a topic idea or an outline of a working session that you will facilitate. If you have an idea for a topic you would like to see covered, but you would prefer not to lead, please make note of that in the form in the Session Proposal box.
Possible topics might include:
- Privacy Compliance
- Future technology trends
- Departmental best practices
- Software deep dive
- Design and Technology curricular or co-curricular initiatives
- Ontario Government & University reporting (ONSIS, OUAC, OCAS).
Sessions should be 1 hour in duration including time for questions at the end. Single presenters or co-led sessions with two or more presenters are welcome. Active learning and audience engagement are encouraged.
The Techfest Planning Committee looks forward to receiving your proposals. *The deadline for proposals is Monday, January 17, 2020.
