New Governors’ Workshop

Designed to educate and update all governors of CIS Ontario member schools' boards with regards to best practices in governance issues, this workshop is for heads of school, chief financial officers and governors who are new to CIS Ontario member schools or have served on a CIS Ontario school board for a few years.

Winter 2023 – New Governors' Workshop

Due to demand a winter session has been added for CIS Ontario member school governors, heads of school and financial officers to gather online, for an interactive session full of learning through case studies. 

Richard Powers, instructor for Rotman's Executive MBA, OMNIUM, MBA and Executive Education Programs, will facilitate and walk us through a host of information in regards to best practices in governance issues.

Richard Powers, an instructor for Rotman's Executive MBA, OMNIUM, MBA and Executive Education Programs, is an internationally recognized expert in both corporate and not-for-profit governance, Richard is the Academic Director of The Directors Education Program (DEP) and the Not-For-Profit Governance Essentials Program (GEP) (in partnership with the Institute of Corporate Directors – ICD). Richard is a director of several not-for-profit organizations and frequently comments on legal and governance issues in various media across Canada.
