Drama Educators Gather at Stratford Festival for a Day of Learning and Collaboration

On Friday, October 3, 2025, drama educators from CIS Ontario member schools gathered at Stratford Festival for a day dedicated to professional learning, networking, and inspiration.

The event began with an engaging, teacher-focused workshop, “Staging Safety: Trauma-Informed Tools for Drama Educators,” which explored strategies to support student well-being and safety in creative spaces. Participants then enjoyed time to connect with colleagues, share ideas, and contribute to planning for the 2025–2026 Middle School and Senior School CISDF Drama Festivals.

Educators also toured Stratford Festival’s world-class facilities—host of the 2025–2026 CISDF—before gathering for a collegial group dinner at a local restaurant. The day concluded with an evening performance, where attendees could choose from several Stratford productions, including Dangerous Liaisons, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Macbeth, and Annie (featuring Harper Rae Asch from The York School).

This annual professional learning opportunity provided both inspiration and practical tools for educators, reaffirming the strength of the CIS Ontario arts community and its commitment to supporting meaningful, inclusive, and creative learning experiences for students.
