TMS Upper School is inviting applications from motivated, inspiring individuals for a:

Technology Systems and Integration Specialist 

Reporting to the Head of the Upper School or designate, the Upper School Technology Systems and Integration Specialist is a position that will oversee and support the integration of technology and curriculum in the classroom. The successful candidate will improve the effectiveness of the Upper School learning activities and classroom workflows by innovating the use of the school’s platforms and devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Has a teaching load of 40%
  • Collaborates with the Director of Information Technology and the Elementary Integrator/Innovation Teacher to develop and implement the school’s educational technology vision
  • Collaborates with the Director of Information Technology and I.T Department in the evaluation and implementation of technologies to meet instructional and supervisory needs
  • Collaborates with teachers to gather requirements for instructional approaches facilitated by possible ICT solutions, and communicates these needs to the IT Department and Director of Information Technology for strategic planning and implementation
  • Provides regular, ongoing group and one-to-one support to teachers and in-class support to teachers to ensure the successful deployment of technology
  • Serves as a technology liaison between faculty and the I.T Department
  • Assists in the set-up and administration of student testing technologies
  • Set-up, configuration and administration of the school’s collaborative learning platforms to best serve identified teaching, learning and administrative needs
  • Facilitates and holds a variety of training sessions on the use of technology and learning platforms for teaching groups including departments, curricular-specific working groups and grade-levels, parents and students
  • Works with teachers to increase awareness about school standards and policies surrounding digital literacy, digital safety, the responsible use of technology and data protection
  • Remains current with new technologies and provides training to all stakeholders
  • Identifies  appropriate external PD providers to providing training, where appropriate, and coordinates delivery of training
  • Collaborates with the IT Department to ensure the necessary infrastructure and tools for successful technology integration are available and operational
  • Assists with the onboarding of new teaching staff through orientation sessions and assistance during their initial weeks and months at TMS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Teaching qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Educational Technology/Instructional Technology or a Computer Science field with teaching experience
  • Extensive working knowledge of and experience with educational hardware and software, periphery, web technologies, and school information and learning management platforms
  • Extensive experience with Apple technologies and Google Workspace is essential. Google Educator Level 1 and 2 certifications,  Google Trainer and Apple Education Certification are desirable
  • Extensive experience in an educational setting and familiarity with the IBDP and IB MYP programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for working with educators
  • Familiarity with the following would be an asset: multimedia production (including non-linear video editing), 3D design/printing, laser engraving/cutting
