RECE Occasional and Relief Teaching Positions
Bayview Glen is currently looking for RECE Occasional and Relief Teachers within our Preschool division for the 2023-2024 school year. You will be providing classroom coverage for our youngest students aged two and three years old during times when teachers are absent. Relief Teachers will work a set schedule Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Occasional Teachers must be available to work on an on-call/as needed basis Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 6:00 pm. If you are someone who is dedicated to the development of the whole child, with a passion for teaching within this age group, we want to meet you!
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing classroom coverage when teachers are absent
- Ensuring safety of all children and following all health and safety guidelines
- Supervising free play, both inside and outdoors
- Serving snacks and lunch
- Cleaning and sanitizing childcare spaces, including frequently touched surfaces, equipment, toys, and any other areas or items deemed necessary
- Maintaining positive relationships with parents and families
- Adhering to and respecting all CCEYA policies and procedures, Toronto Public Health Mandates, BVG Policies and other relevant guiding practices for licensed childcare programmes
What You’ll Need:
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (R.E.C.E.) in good standing
- Post secondary education in Early Childhood Development or equivalent
- One to two years of experience working with children at the Preschool level
- Knowledge of Reggio Inspired Pedagogy
- Well versed in How Does Learning Happen Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years and Early Learning for Every Child Today
- Strong knowledge of all CCEYA policies and procedures, Toronto Public Health Mandates and other relevant guiding practices for licensed childcare programmes
- Initiative, creativity, problem-solving skills and flexibility to adapt to different environments
- A deep care and enthusiasm towards the well-being of BVG students and the whole school community
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to adjust communication style for different audiences (i.e., children, parents, staff, etc.)
- Professional reflection and continued practice as an educator is a must
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
- Valid child and infant First Aid/CPR certification
- Up to date Immunizations and new TB results
