Under the direction of the Director of Junior School or designate, the Teacher will provide support to the Pickering College student and program. This position requires a person with a high level of energy, enthusiasm, patience, and professionalism. This role commences in August 2023.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, develop, teach and assess course curriculum
- Coordinate curriculum and purchases for the subject area
- Perform Duty and Lunch Table Supervision
- Coach/Co-ordinate co-curricular activities two terms (to be advised)
- Professional Duties
- Professional Development and Career Development Plan
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor of Education
- Primary/Junior qualifications
- Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent
- ESL experience an asset
- Strong technology background
- 3-5 years of Kindergarten Teaching experience preferred
- Demonstrate and articulate a passion for innovation and creativity in education
- Demonstrate commitment to students’ academic and personal success
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Reggio Training and related experience is an asset
- Independent School experience is an asset
- Co-curricular experience is an asset
