Branksome Hall is seeking two part-time Head Exam Proctors to invigilate exams for Grade 8 to 12 students. Integral to providing support for students writing their exams, Head Exam Proctors are responsible for the following:
- Overseeing the coordination and set up of the exam rooms;
- Ensuring that all policies and exam procedures are being followed by the Exam Proctors;
- Taking attendance and reading standard exam instructions to students;
- Distributing, collecting, checking and counting exam materials from students;
- Ensuring academic integrity by strictly adhering to the school’s regulations, policies, and procedures regarding exams;
- Enforcing time limits and compliance with other exam procedures while honouring additional time requirements for impacted students;
- Preparing completed exams for pick/up/delivery;
- Preparing a final proctor report which includes rule violations and/or unusual occurrences that have been escalated from Exam Proctors.
Head Proctors are required for the following exam dates:
- March 3 – March 10, 2023
- May 1 – May 18, 2023
- June 5 – June 15, 2023
Head Proctors are required from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day. In addition, invigilators are required to attend one training session, the date for which is still to be determined.
Head proctors will be OCT certified (or equivalent) or in the process of graduating from a teacher’s education program. Previous experience proctoring exams, being a Head Proctor or providing supervision would be considered an asset. The successful candidates will have sound judgment as well strong communication (both verbal and written), organizational, and monitoring skills and enjoy working with Senior Middle School aged students. With a keen eye for detail and critical thinking skills, you are able to remain discreet while still maintaining a presence. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must also be able to exercise a high level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism in your work, particularly with the handling of student and exam information. Strong technology skills, as well as proficiency in MS office applications and Google Suite complete your profile.
