Holy Name of Mary College School is an independent, post-secondary preparatory school for girls in grades 5-12 distinguished by an innovative academic programme and a values-based culture. It is guided by a mission to design 21st Century learning opportunities that reach the whole child so they will thrive in the areas most relevant to their future - academics, co-curriculars, and innovation. HNMCS’s small classes ensure these core competencies are delivered in a supportive, pedagogically progressive environment that is grounded in HNMCS’s core values of respect, compassion, transformation and justice.
We strategically integrate technology into our academic and co-curricular programming to ensure a student’s HNMCS experience is one that meets the needs and demands of our contemporary world.
The school is a member of CIS, grounded in Catholic roots, and is entering into the MSA accreditation process.
The Athletic Director will oversee the athletic programming, including coaching assignments, coordinating the athletic schedule and facilities, the coordination of officials, and related financial responsibilities. They will work collaboratively with and support coaching staff in both the Middle and Senior Schools to ensure alignment and advancement of the program. They will also oversee the Elite Athlete Program.
We are looking for a progressive and innovative educator with intermediate/senior qualifications in Physical Education who is confident delivering curriculum using primarily 21st Century pedagogy (i.e. personalized learning, constructivism, PBL). This person will have a proven track record of displaying a growth mindset, designing and delivering innovative lessons that achieve their rigour by asking students to try new things, and using assessment and evaluation methods that promote learning instead of measuring it. Student Life and community is a large part of who we are and what we do at HNMCS.
