This is an exciting time to join a leading independent school in the role of Associate Director, Community Engagement. Reporting to the Executive Director, Advancement and Community Engagement (ACE), and a key member of the ACE team, you are responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive engagement strategy designed to provide meaningful opportunities for engagement across all constituent groups.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Branksome Hall Alumnae Association (BHAA) and the Branksome Hall Parent Association (BHPA) to build an active volunteer program with a goal to deepen community involvement in the life of the school. The incumbent will also develop, implement and provide oversight to student and young alum engagement programs including the launch of a mentorship program. The Associate Director will track and share metrics to demonstrate the connectivity between community engagement and fundraising and measure progress.
The Associate Director will also oversee the retail merchandise operations of the Alum and Uniform Shop. Working closely with the Shop Manager, the incumbent will plan and develop merchandising strategies as well as source and promote branded merchandise to achieve revenue and growth goals while ensuring year-over-year growth in the physical shop and online sales.
The incumbent will hold a degree and/or diploma in a related field (communications, marketing, public relations, membership), along with five to seven years of progressive experience related to alumni, parent, volunteer and/or customer relations. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience in, or knowledge of, an educational setting would be considered an asset.
The successful candidate will have experience leading a team, working with volunteers and building consensus among a group of community members. An impactful leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, you thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment and possess superior interpersonal skills. Comfortable with, and effective in, public speaking, the Associate Director will possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Experienced with budget preparation and fiscal management, you have your finger on the pulse of market trends and leverage your analytical and research skills to inform decisions and measure progress.
The successful candidate will have strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite, as well as social media and online applications. The Associate Director will be required to work some evenings and weekends, as well as travel occasionally.
