Middle/Senior School Science (Chemistry) Teacher – Full Time

Commencing September 2024

The Country Day School (CDS) is seeking an experienced, Ontario-certified teacher to
join our Science department. The successful candidate will have a university degree in
Science with a specialization in Chemistry (master’s degree preferred). The initial
teaching complement will include senior level Chemistry rounded out with intermediate
science course(s). The ideal candidate, while passionate about higher level Chemistry,
will also be excited by the prospect of teaching a wide range of science grades.
Additionally, we are seeking a teacher whose practice embodies our principles of an
expert teacher:

  • has a deep understanding of teaching/learning and the subject area
  • monitors student learning and uses assessment to improve teaching and learning
  • creates an optimal classroom environment
  • focuses on mastery learning and deep understanding

  • offers appropriately challenging tasks and goals
  • excels at the relational aspects of teaching
