Continuity of Support for Member Schools

EMPOWERING OUR MEMBERS THROUGH INFORMATION & CONNECTIONS

We all have different levels of comfort with taking our professional lives online. Some are able to take their teaching, learning and work tasks to a virtual space with ease and others are on a new journey. Whatever your comfort level with technology, we are all new to the experience of the exceptional circumstances under the COVID-19 state of emergency in Ontario.

At CIS Ontario, supporting member schools is our #1 priority and to that end we have created the following opportunities to help you in your continued work to support and engage with your school community.

CIS Ontario Member Portal

Our Member Portal is a password protected area for all employees of CIS Ontario member schools. The portal provides access to many important and useful resources within distinct Network Group Dashboards based on teacher, staff and leadership groups.

Examples of resources found within the Dashboards include; sample policies, general and network-specific COVID-19 resources, legal updates and resources from Borden Ladner Gervais LLP  (BLG), materials from network events, a directory of members in each network group, as well as discussion boards. Information and resources are continually being added to our Member Portal Network Group Dashboards, as well as our COVID-19 Resource Board.

Network Group Dashboards are also used to post all weekly Zoom meeting details pertaining to COVID-19 discussions.

Weekly CIS Ontario Zoom Meetings

CIS Ontario is hosting several weekly Zoom Meetings for Network Groups such as the; Heads' Network, Executive Assistants Network, and Health Services Network. Where applicable, materials from these meetings are shared with group members on their respective dashboards.

In addition to these weekly meetings, CIS Ontario also organizes one-time Zoom meetings for Network Groups that would like to connect and initiate collaboration.

Zoom meeting details are found on their respective Network Group Dashboard via the Member Portal.

Opportunities to Share Resources

★ CISLIB - Librarians' Network
The CIS Ontario Librarians' Network are sharing a variety of eLearning Resources for Families as a support for CIS Ontario parents and the general public who visit our website.

#WeAreInThisTogether

CIS Ontario is working collaboratively with CAIS, ISA-BC and QAIS, not to duplicate, but to complement one another and focus on our typical mandates. Many of our CIS Ontario member school Heads and school leaders are attending weekly CAIS open-ended ZOOM conversation calls. CAIS is also offering a series of webinars on a variety of topics for schools ranging from Governance and Finance to Academics. Non-CAIS, CIS Ontario schools are invited to attend all meetings and webinars.
