About This Faculty Role

HTS has an exciting maternity leave LTO opportunity for a Middle School Student Success Coach to join our team in December 2020.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated, innovative and passionate individual who will be responsible for the academic support of students in Grades 7 and 8 and for assisting to develop program and services from K-12. He/she will be working directly with students and families to meet the needs of diverse learning profiles.

We are inviting candidates with the following qualifications to apply:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education; specialty in assigned area

  • OCT certified, with Additional Qualifications in Special Education required (Part 1, 2 and Specialist)

  • 2-3 years experience, at an appropriate level in a similar role

  • Ability to interact with students, parents, and teachers enthusiastically, patiently, and with discretion

  • Demonstrated knowledge of counselling theories, models and techniques

  • Experience working with faculty, student, and families to provide optimal support for the students they are working with

  • Willingness and enthusiasm for integrating technology into the learning environment

  • Understanding of personalized learning

  • Independent School experience is an asset

  • Experience working with any type of learning plan for students is an asset
