Rothesay Netherwood School (1877) is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for Grades 6 to 12 that offers innovative, world-class learning experiences in a safe and caring school community. RNS is seeking a computer studies teacher who can teach coding to students in multiple programming languages at Middle and Senior School levels. This person will also be involved in a range of programs, including robotics, weekly technology-specific club offerings, technology-related groups and events. They will be responsible for sustaining and strengthening a culture of appreciation and informed passion for technology in our school community. Most importantly, the successful candidate will be able to inspire young people to seek growth and challenge through participation in our technology courses and programs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Teach technology courses in Grades 9 and 10

  • Strengthen and develop our senior robotics program

  • Provide technology-focused club offerings as part of our Wednesday program

  • Contribute to our after-school co-curricular program as an activity leader

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Education or relevant experience

  • A track record of excellence as a teacher, ideally in an independent school setting

  • The ability to integrate newly robust technologies

  • A skill set that includes strong organization and execution abilities

  • Positive attitude and flexible approach with students, families and colleagues

  • A demonstrable commitment to professional growth

  • A strong background knowledge in at least one other STEAM discipline (Science, Engineering, Art, or Math) is highly desired.

Faculty members at RNS contribute beyond the classroom as co-curricular leaders, advisors, and members of a residence duty team.
