Timmins, Ontario, hosted the OFSAA Boys' Golf Championships this past week. Golfers from across the province competed in chilly conditions on a challenging course. Among the competitors was a strong contingent from the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA), who travelled 700km north to represent their schools with pride and skill.

The CISAA contingent included representatives from:

  • St. Michael’s College School: Viggo Juulsgaard, Luke Olynick, Matthew Simpson, and Joseph Totino
  • Upper Canada College: Terence Deng, Bo Dong, Jack Myers, and Charlie Pantalone
  • The York School: Sam White
  • Hillfield Strathallan College: Brandon Le

The CISAA golfers delivered standout performances despite the frosty weather and demanding course.

Top Results:

  • Brandon Le (Hillfield Strathallan College): Achieved a top 50 finish in the Open Division.
  • Sam White (The York School): Placed 17th in the High School Division, an impressive result.
  • Upper Canada College: Brought home a team Silver medal.
  • Matthew Simpson (St. Michael’s College School): Earned an individual Bronze medal in the Open Division.

However, the crowning achievement of the event came from St. Michael’s College School, which secured the coveted OFSAA Championship in the team event. This marks an incredible fifth consecutive OFSAA team title by a CISAA school, underscoring the association's dominance in boys' golf.

Looking ahead, with such a talented and young group of golfers, the upcoming Spring CISAA season promises to be just as thrilling, offering a preview of future champions.

Special thanks are extended to Michael Ross (St. Michael’s College School) for his outstanding work as the event convenor.
