CISAA Championships
Celebrating School Sport
The Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario Athletic Association (CISAA) offers playoff and championship events for all sports and leagues, ranging from grade 7 to grade 12. The younger age groups, in grades 4 to 6, offer regular season and end-of-season multi-game events, but not specific championships.
Playoff and championship formats for leagues involving students in grades 7 to 12 in team and individual sports follow age-appropriate guidelines, as well as sport-specific requirements that provincial sport bodies may require. CISAA awards championship plaques to winning teams, and in individual sports like Cross Country Running and Track and Field, there are age group plaques. Additionally, medals and ribbons are awarded based on the age group and the sport.
CISAA Championships are held in October/early November for the fall, February after the Family Day weekend break for winter, and then late May following the Victoria Day weekend break for spring sports. Currently, championships are offered across 26 sports and more than 170 leagues.
