The Institute for Purpose-Driven Education

August 26–27, 2026 | Pickering College, Newmarket | 9:00 am-3:30 pm with an 8:30 am optional breakfast.

Strengthening connection. Deepening academics. Clarifying purpose.

Join educators from public and independent schools for a two-day immersive professional learning experience exploring how relationships, academic rigour, and authentic purpose can deepen student learning.

Hosted at Pickering College, the Institute combines faculty case studies, collaborative design studios, guided site visits, and protected planning time within innovative learning environments, including West Lake House and the Blue and Silver Farm.

Grounded in the work of Dr. Cinde Lock and the Connections, Academics, Purpose framework, participants will reflect on their current practice and take practical steps toward designing purposeful learning experiences for the year ahead.

Designed intentionally for late August, the Institute offers educators meaningful space to think, collaborate, and prepare before the school year begins.

Ideal for: classroom teachers, curriculum leaders, department heads, administrators, and school teams.

Cohort size is limited to support depth of dialogue and collaborative design.
