Mental Health First Aid for Supporting Youth is a specialized program designed to help participants recognize and manage mental health challenges or crises in youth. This training equips individuals with the confidence, tools, and strategies to act as first responders, offering support until professional help can be sought. Upon course completion, participants will receive a certificate from the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
This is an excellent opportunity for educators, administrators, and anyone working closely with youth to build practical skills in mental health support.
Course Overview
- Hybrid Format: Self-Directed Module (1–2 hours) – to be completed before the in-person session
- In-Person Training (Full Day) – hands-on learning with expert instruction
- Instructor: Ashley Coon, Registered Nurse and certified Mental Health First Aid facilitator
