CISAA SPEAKER SERIES: Next Level Speakers Cultivate Lifelong Athletes and Learners

“Become the best version of yourself” – We hear this in the arena of school, sport, and the game of life.  We all want to strive for the best version of ourselves and know that learning from our opportunities helps move us toward that goal.

In spring 2021, CIS Ontario provided an amazing opportunity - a Speaker Series for coaches and athletic directors.  Each week in April and May, teacher-coaches and athletic directors came together to listen, learn and reflect on session topics such as high-performance, leadership, mindfulness in sport, long-term development, practice planning, culture building, DEI in sport, and investing in ourselves. The session presenters were absolutely next level, and we certainly appreciated their time and knowledge. Having the chance to listen to Steve Anderson, Chris Cheng,Carly Clarke, Tara Costello-Ledwell, Paul Jurbala, Charles Kissi, David Nurse, and Tamara Tatham was an amazing opportunity. A fantastic bonus to the series was the relationship building with each of these presenters. We also need to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all of our sponsors: Centaur Products, GameOnStream, Gym-Con Sports Flooring, Forum Athletics Products, Moore Sports Tours, and The Scoreboard Man for supporting this initiative.  We hope to continue the series as a way to further our growth as coaches and athletic leaders and to facilitate the fueling of our student-athletes’ passion to strive for life-long athletic development.
