In today’s rapidly evolving world, creativity, curiosity, empathy, and resilience are essential skills for students. The Future Prize for Middle School, co-hosted by Future Design School and CIS Ontario, provided an exciting opportunity for students in Grades 6 to 8 to develop these critical skills while tackling real-world challenges.
Held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Upper Canada College Preparatory School, this one-day event brought together 87 students from 15 CIS Ontario schools for an immersive design thinking workshop. Guided by expert facilitators, participants explored pressing challenges, learning to build empathy, think critically, and craft innovative solutions.
The energy in the room was electric as students enthusiastically presented their ideas, showcasing their creativity, problem-solving skills, and passion for making a difference. The judges were impressed by the depth of thought and innovation that each team brought to their projects.
