eLearning Crash Course for Teachers with ELCC

In response to the COVID-19 emergency measures that shuttered our CIS Ontario schools in March 2020, CIS Ontario and eLearning Consortium Canada (ELCC) partnered to offer free orientation courses in online teaching and learning, to teachers from CIS Ontario schools.

450 teachers were trained through four cohorts of the these week-long eLearning Crash Courses in late March and April. The asynchronous course looked at how to develop content and teach online in a way that maintains student engagement while providing continuous opportunity for assessment and feedback. Teachers were introduced to online learning environments and tools that can be used to achieve the above goals.

The eLearning Crash Course is a condensed and customized version of the Ontario College of Teachers approved Intermediate/Senior Additional Qualification course developed by ELCC Executive Director, Dan Strutt.
