Kickstart Your Teaching Career in our Member Independent Schools!

Each fall, new teachers in our CIS Ontario member schools are invited to join our 'New Teacher Orientation Workshop Series.' This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce educators to the unique environment of our member-independent schools. This series, held annually, is ideal for teachers new to the profession or those with experience who are new to CIS Ontario schools. It offers invaluable support and guidance for navigating the unique landscape of independent education.

The series covers a range of essential topics, from understanding teaching and learning in independent schools to changing expectations in independent schools and how to support the success of all learners. We also take teachers through CIS Ontario's role in supporting our member schools and their educators with an overview of our programs and services, including our networking platform and opportunities, professional learning and student programs.

Through this orientation, teachers gain insight into the culture of independent school life in Ontario, connect with fellow educators, and acquire strategies to support student learning. This is an excellent way to gain confidence, build skills, and thrive in a new role.

When you begin your career with a CIS Ontario member independent school, you are supported by them and by us. We hope to see you at an upcoming New Teacher Orientation Workshop Series!
